Appointments & Services at PACC

Calling for an appointment--

Providing your child with prompt access to office visits is an essential part of our mission to provide excellence in health care, and can help our families avoid costly visits to the emergency department or to an urgent care clinic that is unfamiliar with your child's medical history. Easy access is also basic to the concept of a Medical Home, where comprehensive care is available long term from medical professionals your family know and trust.

Insurance: PACC accepts most major health insurance plans, Colorado Medicaid, and CHP Plus.

Please call: (719)269-1727 and let us know your child's needs.

Scheduled Appointments will minimize waiting and will allow the office to accomodate your needs best. We will have the medical records ready and can get insurance coverage verification done ahead of time. Physicals, Well Child Checks, Behavioral Health, and Well Woman visits are scheduled appointments. Also, scheduled appointments are always best for persistent or complicated problems.

Services we routinely provide include:

  • Get Acquainted Visit for parents These are provided at no charge for parents who wish to meet with the doctor before deciding to schedule their child with an appointment. They are especially useful to parents expecting the birth or adoption of a child, or parents of a child who has special needs.
  • Well Child Checks All children should have routine well visits to monitor health and normal development and follow up on any ongoing health problems. Immunizations are also available during these visits. (See exam schedule below)
  • Routine & Sports Physicals Preteens and teens have new health care needs as they move through the challenges and problems of adolescence. (See exam schedule below)
  • Acute Illness This includes colds, sore throat, earache, vomiting and diarrhea, cough, pain with urination, minor injuries, and fever.
  • Follow-up and Management of ongoing conditions Such as developmental problems, growth delay, diabetes, thyroid problems, asthma, chronic headaches, bedwetting, persistent abdominal pain, menstrual problems, congenital malformations and heart disease.
  • Behavioral Health Evaluation for possible depression, attention deficit disorder, school failure, and substance abuse.
  • Well Woman Exams Physical exams, and pelvic exam as needed, for concerns about contraception and sexually transmitted disease.
  • Saturday Hours  Except on major holidays, Saturday office hours are available for urgent care problems from 9 to 11 AM.  The office of the pediatrician on call for the weekend hosts this clinic and provides care for all patients of the three pediatricians in the call group (Dr. McCormick, Dr. Dube', and Dr. Sabatini).  All three offices are just north of the hospital.  The front desk or the answering machine message will tell you where to call when your child needs an appointment on Saturday for illness.

When/How Often should my child be seen for a routine health exam?

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends routine exams (and most private insurances will cover them) at these ages:

Infants: 2 weeks; 2 months; 4 months; 6 months; 9 months; 12 months; 15 months

Toddlers to Preschoolers: 18 months; 2 years; 3 years; 4 years; 5 years

Kids to Teens: 6 years, 8 years; 10 years; annual exams for ages 12 years and up
